Went to the dump the other day to get rid of some moldy old wood and some crumbled melamine, that miserable, heavy, glued-together sawdust from which cheap furniture is made…junk that never fails to fall apart after a year or so. To my delight, Marin Sanitary Service, north of San Francisco, is now offering tours. This is the mother of all junkyards, folks, a Disneyish DooDooLand and one of my favorite weekend destinations, often to recycle the the junk I pick up on the road. Read More
