I have been yakking my way through Macau and Hong Kong over the past few weeks and have had some rather animated discussions, some passionate, some just plain interesting. The passion comes from the likes of environmentalist and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki, who spoke to us about environmental economics (there ain’t any), “peak oil”, cool companies and why asthma, a fairly rare disease years ago, is now epidemic.

We were all gathered for the annual confab of the Pacific Asia Travel Association. I serve on its Sustainable Tourism Committee.
